Good Grief. That truck is so long, you'll need to add at least a couple of FRS Radios to talk to the people in the back!

I put a 6 meter whip on the roof of my 2001 Dodge. That metal on my roof flexes like a half inflated basketball. I had to put a backing plate under the antenna. If that truck ever flips over, I bet it will bounce down the road.

You work anyone on 6 mobile, Mike? Anything cool?

I could never hear anyone on 6 in CA, I should check here. I have a Comet 6 meter vertical which I could hook up to my Icom 746Pro.

Never had an issue with it. My driving instructor in high school (old WWII radio op) taught us a foolproof method and so far it hasn't failed me yet.

So far I just listen to the wind whistle through the antenna. I do try and monitor one repeater from Buckingham on 53.23, but I don't hear much. I'm considering this my effort to revive 6 meter :) I figured 6 meter was good for in the mountains. With that Alinco DX-70T I'm only doing 10 Watts. The antenna does double duty for my ol' Yaesu FRG-9600 scanner. Most of the time I listen to 14.300 for the Marine stuff when I'm out at the Marina.

Then you didn't take the test on a course behind an MV inspection station. I never had a problem on the street where cars are easily seen but on the course you're expected to park between two traffic cones. The one behind is too short to be seen and even in a side mirror it disappears in a blind spot, I ran it over.
