I've had friends that grew some. I don't know how morel they were, but people told me they were magic.

I have picked and sold Morels before. Made a fair bit of change if I remember right. Had to fight off the hippies, asians, mexicans, rednecks, and dopers though. Some folks get pretty nasty about protecting their favorite picking grounds.

One of the pipefitters at the Coors Brewery in the Shenandoah Valley used to find lots of these mushrooms around the facility. He was from Utica, NY, and seemed to have a knack for knowing exactly where they grew. They must be really good, people paid a fortune for them. I never tried any, even though I'm a huge mushroom fan. I prefer the commercially grown mushrooms, less likely to be poisoned.Originally Posted by al2n
