Titanic II. Because one wasn't enough.

    Sailing in 2016. For real.

The Titanic sank in the Atlantic Ocean more than 100 years ago, but is it too soon build a new one? It might be hard to believe, but plans are underway for the creation of the Titanic II, an exact replica of the fated ship that could transport passengers across the sea as soon as 2016.
Billionaire and professor Clive Palmer — and his Blue Star Line company — held a press conference in New York City on Tuesday morning to unveil the new blueprints of the Titanic II, which was first announced in 2012.
It will make its maiden voyage on 2016 from Southhampton, England to New York, carrying 2,600 passengers in 850 cabins. It will employ about 900 crew members. The length will be three inches longer than the original at 883 feet and include 18 lifeboats — enough for everyone on board.
"The area [for] passengers will be authentic with the same design and facilities, but there will be modern things such as air conditioning and other features we are debating, such as Internet on the ship," Palmer said at the press conference. "I'm against it. I think you should relax on vacation. There won't be TVs in the state rooms though."
    Titanic II

Yes, the Titanic II’s plans have just been unveiled. And Clive Palmer, the billionaire professor behind this venture and Blue Star Line, is absolutely committed to re-creating the original voyage from Southampton to New York, including period attire for passengers!
So, it'll sail into New York? Is this tempting fate? Dunno, but it seems that we learn from our mistakes to make the same mistakes, so...

    What's next?

“The basic tool for the manipulation of reality is the manipulation of words. If you can control the meaning of words, you can control the people who must use the words."
    --Philip K. Dick

There's enough parking space next to Titanic 1 ;)

In related news, God has announced the creation of a replica iceberg in Greenland. Launch is scheduled for 2016.
All the world’s a stage, but obviously the play is unrehearsed and everybody is ad-libbing his lines. Maybe that’s why it’s hard to tell if we’re living in a tragedy or a farce.

That would be fun. Especially from a photographic point of view. It would be an interesting study or prelude to the beginning of a vacation as you arrive over your destination for a series of photos.

That would be cool BUT there is a helium shortage, so it's unlikely.

I did get a chance to visit Lakehurst NAS where the hindenburg crash occurred. They have a museum and we even did a special event there W2H. I had no idea that the airship had crashed in NJ. Lakehurst is now part of the mega base complex with Dix and McGuire and is also a hub for military flights.

I'd like to see the airships come back as well ....... and seeing helium is getting harder to come by,let's use hydrogen again and see if history can repeat itself and we'll still have alot of fun!

How could you make an iceberg fly? Seems the boat trick would be easier.
