You have got to be kidding me...The last one I saw sell on ebay was right around 245$ and have seen a dozen or so over the years at hamfests for right around 200$. I even remember seeing one on amfone for 255$ (I think. Give or take anyway.). But, 800$?

The only thing rare about it is its condition but NIB guarantees it needs to be re-capped, likely those carbon comp resistors too. Yup, they drift value just sitting there and often enough to go out of tolerance. $800 is bad enough but add shipping and the cost of refurbishing it and it goes from now way Jose to fogidaboudit. That raises the question; is he a huffer with brain damage or was he born that way?

    How about a little head?

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Tektronix-S-...item1e722f36fa

I've recently seen this model priced for almost double the asking price of the auction above.

    Let's get back to reality:

Last week I bought an S-1 (1GHz), S-6 and an S-53 (trigger recognizer) head plus a 7S11 sampling plugin for roughly half the price of the S-6 in the linked auction. All save the 7S11 were recently certified in-spec, and I can repair the plugin if need be.

Like I said they're always good for a laugh. BTW, does anybody know where I got that "better than tacos" phrase from? No, not a pink Bell 47 with an APU.

Nope. A much stronger hallucinogen. Compounded by greed and avarice.

    Dayum.

When the time comes that I have shekels for a scope, I'm going to have depend on you to find me a bargain... by the time I get wind of deals like these, someone else usually got them!
