Not my words, but the words of a Univ. of Washington study.

Want to have more sex? Men, stop helping with the chores (title of story)
Ohter than child-bearing, what exactly is a female and a male task?
    Choose M or F:
    Cooking
    Washing up after meal
    Vacuuming
    Dusting
    Changing light bulbs
    Laundry
    Changing the furnace filters
Washing out the AC condenser unit
Changing the oil in the cars
    Grocery shopping
    Fixing the TV
    Washing the windows
    Taking out the trash
    Feeding the goldfish
    ...

As it happens, I do most of those tasks and I have been nicely rewarded...
I think the study may be flawed.

    OK, here we go.

    Cooking F
Traditional, unless he's a professional he can't cook worth a poop.

    Washing up after meal M
You don't see cooks or waitresses washing dishes so why not a husband doing his part after his wife plays cook AND waitress?

    Vacuuming F
When a husband does it his wife bitches about every little dust mote he misses so why invite dissent?

    Dusting F
    Same as above.

    Changing light bulbs M
I refer you to the how many wives does it take to change a light bulb jokes.

    Laundry F
Another thing for her to bitch about so let her do it.

    Changing the furnace filters M
A woman would let it get clogged up and complain it's cold.

Washing out the AC condenser unit ?
I've never seen one that needed it so I'm confused.

Changing the oil in the cars M
Women only put gas in the car and wonder why when it breaks down.

    Grocery shopping M
She takes all day wandering the aisles and brings the store home. He takes 10 minutes and brings home what they need.

    Fixing the TV M
With the exception of Kelli she'd buy another one and put it on her husband's credit card.

    Washing the windows M
EEEWWW! That's ICKY! Female housekeepers don't do windows either.

    Taking out the trash M
    Another icky one.

    Feeding the goldfish F
    He's likely to forget.

OK Kelli, now make something of it! (;->)

    For the Record...

I have always done the dishes. My present (3rd) wife doesn't let me do them half the time.

We both cook. Usually she prefers to grill, I do the microwave potatoes, rice and vegetables. She makes ribs, lasagne and some chicken. I make Garlic, Lemon-Pepper and Onion Chicken, Eggplant Parmiagiana (Sicilian style), Bavarian Pork Chops, Corned Beef and Cabbage, Pork Butt and Cabbage, Homemade Soups and a wicked Turkey.

We both do laundry, although with my disability she has to do it more often these days.

    We both do shopping.

We both do cleaning. I usually do the bathroom and Kitchen. I can get it done in the time it takes to disinfect (10 minutes).

Now, this did NOT work well with wives 1 & 2 I gotta admit.

This one is as one here said, a keeper.

Still, this is a study, it is done by a woman and these are her results. Not mine. Don't shoot the piano player.

    Oh, Charles

Cooking -- We both do it, because it depends on who's home or working more. I happen to cook much more healthy than he does. He typically cooks out of boxes and I prefer not to.

Washing up after meal -- Me and the kids, almost always. He hates cleaning, although I have made him do more lately. I almost always do the dishes and the kids clean the table.

Vacuuming -- Again, me and the kids do this.

    Dusting -- Ditto

Changing light bulbs -- He couldn't change a light bulb to save his life, so again, me.

Laundry -- in this house, everyone does their own. I used to do his, but he complained about the way I did it (because it was different from how his Mom did it) so I told him to do his own damn laundry then and that's how it's been for three years now.

Changing the furnace filters -- Me. He wouldn't know what a furnace filter was if it bit him in the ass. If I weren't here he'd call a furnace tech to do it. I also maintain my status as Supreme Mistress And Ruler Of The Thermostat.

Washing out the AC condenser unit -- If it needed to be done? Me.

Changing the oil in the cars -- Dealership. However, I do most of the maintenance on both our motorcycles. The thought if him trying to fix anything on a motorcycle or a car is scary.

Grocery shopping -- Both of us. Usually him these days because he has more time on his hands, but he does it the way I taught him. He used to spend $400 a pop at the store and come home with almost nothing until I made him come with me a few times as I made my rounds between four different grocery stores to catch all the sales. He learned quick and now he's a pro. I'm never scared when I send him out to the grocery store anymore.

Fixing the TV -- Yeah, that'd be me, along with anything else that uses electricity in this house.

Washing the windows -- I usually end up doing that in the spring.

Taking out the trash -- My 15 year old son usually does it.

Feeding the goldfish -- We don't have goldfish, but he feeds the cats. The cats have a ritual. Every morning they bug the shit out of him until he goes downstairs and fills the dishes. They know I'm not dumb enough to be swayed by their deceptive and manipulative ways, so they gave up on me with that a long time ago.

Yeah, I rather expected that. (;->)
