    SB-230

Here's an interesting item indeed—an Heathkit SB-230 amplifier kit in an unopened box.

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/17098871177

Rather than open it up, the guy had the box x-rayed:

    Currently at $810 on eBay
All the world’s a stage, but obviously the play is unrehearsed and everybody is ad-libbing his lines. Maybe that’s why it’s hard to tell if we’re living in a tragedy or a farce.

I dunno. I checked it before I posted and it worked, now it doesn't. Try this one instead.

I've heard it's impossible to get a replacement 8873 final tube for that amp. True?

Those are scarcer than HENS TEETH! So I baby mine along. Still works fine. I put a massive blower system on the heatsink so it runs stone cold! If it ever blows, then the amp will get converted to one of those Russian tubes like a GI-35B or so.

unobtainium for the most part. Every once in a while (once or twice a year) you might see one on QTH.com
