Now, LMFD didn't get a lot of lines (outside of the primary characters, most of the kids only got one or two), this was one of her moments. Something about Jesus asking what was written on their shoes, the sitting girl in the green shirt held up her foot and said something (Redeemer?), Jesus agrees with her, and LMFD looks down and replies... "No. Her shoe says Reebok!"
Actually, since you mentioned it... the cast were told to bring in colorful clothing, mismatches, whatever. Only a few specific items (like the Superman shirt, and the "military" jacket that "John the Baptist" is wearing) were supplied by the acting school.
In LMFD's case, this is a combination of 3 outfits we'd purchased over the last few years from her dancing school recitals. All were worn for final class rehersal, dress rehersal, and performance... and been closeted since.
Her footwear, which you can't see, is a pair of old dancing shoes, covered in the ultimate material that hold the Universe together. That's right... duct tape. Two different colors of duct tape.
