The students argue that there would be no sign of stars due to the Doppler Effect. In this case, the Doppler blue shift would occur. This is a phenomenon caused by a source of electromagnetic radiation, including visible light, moving toward an observer.

Since this effect implies that the wavelength of electromagnetic radiation would be shortened, the light would shift out of the visibility spectrum and into the X-ray range.
