Ha ha ha ha, not really brother Ash. That's a big reason why we chose to remain out in the rain forest.

In '05, a couple years into her cancer when I was still 18 wheel mobile, I took her on a tour of the US because she wanted to see what's out there in our wonderful land. She had never been out of the PNW except for a road trip to NE, and wondered if it was any "better" out "there".
The humidity of the SE was a hard no. The density of the NE was another hard no. The heat of the SW is a hard no too. The middle has facets of all those other places, so a soft no, but no nevertheless. So we stayed here. Like the saying goes, someone has to do it.

Another boring weather day in SoCal. Ignore the rain report, it’s incorrect.

All the world’s a stage, but obviously the play is unrehearsed and everybody is ad-libbing his lines. Maybe that’s why it’s hard to tell if we’re living in a tragedy or a farce.

.02" precip sounds like the ice layer on an efficient air conditioner condenser

What it actually is is what happens when your weather station uses something called a haptic rain gauge — “haptic” in this case meaning it senses rainfall by the vibrations caused by impact of the drops on the top of the unit — and you forget to move it when you’re running a palm sander nearby.

Once it showed like 2" of rain in the middle of a typically dry SoCal summer day for the same reason. The XYL always forgets to move the thing when she’s refinishing brightwork.

BTW, if anyone is interested in what the weather is doing in this neck of the woods, you can access the info from my little weather station here:

(This will also supply excellent GPS targeting info for any planned anti-pope missile strikes)

    78º ?!!!
I just don't know what to think but it is quite pleasant.
At 82% humidity it says it feels like 87º.
Overcast with visible clouds moving overhead.

Mom says that they are expecting another high 90's day in the NE panhandle.

It's 66°, overcast, 60% humidity here at the radio ranch now. Feels like may more than end of july.
