Quite a storm, it got pretty windy here last night—windy enough to take down the fiberglass mast supporting the southeastern end of my 40m dipole even though I'd slackened it up considerably:

No big, just no 40m operations for a while. I have a 40' steel mast I can use to replace it but the bastid is heavy and I'll need some help getting it set up.

All the world’s a stage, but obviously the play is unrehearsed and everybody is ad-libbing his lines. Maybe that’s why it’s hard to tell if we’re living in a tragedy or a farce.

That's a pisser. Did it actually snap the fiberglass pole?

It was a 30' stack of eight those fiberglass camo support sections. One of them split at the junction point. I can't complain, they cost me only a buck apeice and lasted three years.

    That's less than 3 cents a day.

That will buff out. Just use some duct tape to fix the crack and get on the air!
Encrypt everything. Even if you have nothing to hide. It increases the noise floor.
