Here comes TS Hermine. Batten down the hatches to all you East Coasters. I wish I had my generator hooked up by now. I know one of these storms will result in a week long power outage. The power lines come down here if somebody sneezes.

Just a little dip in the summer, some rain for the weekend, after that a new high pressure area will bring summer back.
Looking at the llast 4 "winters" which were just prolonged autumns i rather enjoy the good weather while it lasts.

As kid i liked winter and extreme weather snow, cold, ice skating etc, now i just hate it when the days get shorter and nights get longer and cold returns.
Since my son and me cleaned out the house and dumped 25 cubic meters of stuff on the scrapheap the skates are gone as well.
THe only things left are what is really used and not stuffed in the attic for decades without being used.
Including the ZX 81 computer magazines.... ;)

Hermine has past by now-just a little rain. We did lose a few trees (pole pines) around here, one fell on the laundry room but not much damage. Portable NATO discone antenna stayed up just fine! 71 degrees now, our 90 degree plus days stopped at 69 days in a row for a new record (old record was 56 days).

Yes, we could talk about the weather but, a picture is worth a thousand words.

The storm water drainpipes filled up quickly, blowing manhole covers into the air and causing flat tires and broken suspensions. The storm drainpipes then backed up into the sewage system causing flooding from bathrooms and into basements.

There were so many wrecks, stranded cars, open manhole/sewer covers that the Cincinnati Police and Fire Departments were stacking calls until there was enough officers cut a lose from the traffic hazard to resume "Normal Radio traffic".

When normal radio traffic began, there were four Overdose calls immediately dispatched; don't know how long they had been holding for.

This area was not "on a Flood Plane", they have never have wide-spread flooding like this.

You know you live in Southern California when you're wakened at 02:00 by what sounds like thunder and you have to look out the window to see if it's weather or the end of the world.
All the world’s a stage, but obviously the play is unrehearsed and everybody is ad-libbing his lines. Maybe that’s why it’s hard to tell if we’re living in a tragedy or a farce.
