You guys are having better weather back there than we're having in San Diego:

Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 10pm, then a chance of showers. Low around 50. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming northwest after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 90%.
All the world’s a stage, but obviously the play is unrehearsed and everybody is ad-libbing his lines. Maybe that’s why it’s hard to tell if we’re living in a tragedy or a farce.

Unlash the moorings and set sail. Shiver some timber, or some such stuff, I dunno.....

Oh, you might get to the Carolinas in time for summer though, unless you put the boat on a trailer and truck it out

I'd probably have to. Going around Cape Horn would take forever and since Panama took over the canal they've discouraged the passage of small boats. Too bad, really, that was on my bucket list.

So, if the tsunami alert goes out, and you're on the boat, what's the plan?

After studying a tsunami inundation map for the area, I'd probably just have to motor out into San Diego Bay about a mile until the wave passes. The risk from tsunamis here is not nearly as severe as it is up your way.

If your far enough out in the sea your boat will simply ride out the tsunami. In fact you might not even notice it. You can even be swimming and just ride over it. The real problem / danger is when the tsunami reaches the shallower coastal line waters and of course when it hits the shoreline.

I keep my 2 feet on the ground, and my head in the twilight zone.

That is convenient. As long as you didn't sleep through it

Global warming is obviously a lie, since it's going to be 50 degrees F in the "Snow Capitol of the US" tomorrow.
