It used to be cow pastures and cropland but has been heavily (and unwisely) developed into commercial properties, retail, office and some hotels. It all gets flooded every few years.

My chaste wife had to drive to Poway from Crest right at the height of that downpour. haven't heard if she made it or not. Guess I oughta call and see. She is buying a PIE for the SANDRA POTLUCK Christmas party tonight.

Carl..... looks like relief is on the way for people in your location......the Arctic high has shifted somewhat and our cold snap appears to have ended which allows the setup for the Pacific weather systems to continue further north and get us instead of you.We didn't get any more snow, but the Mt.Washington ski area is reporting that it looks like they are really going to get dumped on next week....they'll be open for the Christmas skiing crowds.

We have a few days of dry weather before another storm hits mid-to-late next week. That gives me time to take care of the caulking around the A/C unit in the grandkids' room. If you accidentally get too much sealant on there, you can borrow my caulk sucker to remove the excess.
