Nearly 30 Degree (F) temperature drop over night. It was 50 degrees late last night, and 21 degrees this morning.

Half hour later, temp is now 19 degrees, and snowing.

So far the weather this year sucks eggs, or could suck egg eggs if the chickens weren't frozen. If it's not rain it's snow, if it's not snow it's windy, if it's none of the above it's still colder than the chest bumps on a frozen witch! Cabin fever is driving me nuts, nuttier than usual that is, are we in for another year without summer or what? Send out the search parties, we need to find and thaw out the fat lady. I can't take any more of this!

They're coming to take me away ha ha, hee hee, ho ho
To the funny farm in Ecuador,
Where life is warmer all the time,
And they're coming to take me away ha ha!
    (Oh goody, I can't wait!)

They're saying we'll be 42 this weekend. I'll believe it when I see it.

There was a chickadee outside two weeks ago. It's probably a popsicle for cats after the sub-zero nights we had.

Weather is brutal here right now. rare snow squall blew in from Coney Island and white rabbits are falling from the sky.

With about 2½-3 hours before sunrise, this is the temperature. We're about 500' higher, so take 2 degrees off of that temp. Hence Chickadee popsicle. Notice Weds 3/12 and Thurs 3/13 of next week. -2ºF and -8ºF forecast lows. We're not free of winters grip yet.

Isn't it weird ? It's kind of like your country and my country traded weather. Usually we get the unseasonably mild winter here and you guys get the cold stuff. This year we seem to have traded places. Actually this winter this year reminds me of the kind of winters I remember from when I was a kid back in the 60's. Back then we used to get some long cold ones with a lot of snow.. This reminds me of then.

It looks like we're in for some big thawing this weekend, but with more snow to come. It looks like rain coming for this afternoon. At 35 degrees, we should be OK, but I bet most of it freezes on contact with the very cold ground. Snow is just a pain to deal with, but ice is a special treat - that's what usually causes damage, and if we get a lot of rain, we'll have floods. The snow is 7 feet deep around here in places.
