    Hy-Gain HF Transceiver?

Came across this while looking around for some HF antennas...

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hy-Gain-3750...item257873641b

A Hy-Gain 3750 Transceiver? I must admit to never having heard of this one before.

Seller claims it's circa 1978-79 (considering no WARC bands, that's certainly possible) and 200 W output. (E-Ham reviews puts it as circa 1976; RigPix says it's 100 W out.)

I guess it's for real, but must be a pretty obscure item. Any thoughts as to who actually made it? Never mind, RigReference.com says it was actually the National/Panasonic RJX-1011D rebranded http://rigreference.com/rig/3675-Nat...onic_RJX_1011D

Not much info on it out there. Interesting...

I am very familiar with that rig, but never have scored one. They always go for ridiculous prices on Ebay, but every once in awhile, one shows up used locally for around $100 or so. Think the last one on Ebay went for around $800!!!! Not that special a radio, just very obscure. Not many sold, too pricey when they came out, so few bought them. Few sales, quickly discontinued.

    EIGHTEEN HUNDRED BUCKS???!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    That seller is SMOKING DOPE!!!!

NGC 10/160 is another nice one to watch for.

I like the oddball stuff of that period.

I'd buy it.... For a tenth that price.

I'm guessing the 200 watts output is actually 200 watts input.

You're correct. Not a bad rig for what it is, but a TS-820S will outperform it.

Looks nice, though. I like the anodized aluminum front panel.

Panasonic made a matching CB transceiver/VHF receiver - same color scheme. A somewhat rare radio as well.

Me thinks he has been smoking dope for many many years!

But he offers a warranty for another $249.99... Is this seller related to Martin? Email him and offer him $100 and see what he says
