    Dave Hester is Pi$$ed ...

    ... Claims that the show 'Storage Wars' is fake and that it has cost him $750,000 in lost revenue.

    The show did one thing for certain, created a mass migration to storage auctions as I've heard a few of the locals openly complain on FB and there was even a piece on the local news. I guess if I was in the business I'd be pretty pissed too if hundreds of bidders were showing up because they thought it was easy and that they could make a quick buck.

    I know one guy who comes to the flea market every week with a batch of something different. Sometimes it might be a couple of pallets of detergent. It's hard work.

    He crapped in his own nest. The show brought to light the business of buying rental units and glamorized it. People now think they can get rich quick by being just like Dave. Apparently he liked the money for being on the show, his business grew. I don't feel sorry for him, especially since he bit the hand that was feeding him. They kicked him off the show, now he wants more money. Sour grapes.

    Right here is where Hester's lawsuit is going to fall apart (emphasis mine):

    the Communications Act of 1934 […] makes it illegal for broadcasters to rig a contest of intellectual skill with the intent to deceive the viewing public.*
    There's no way Storage Wars could ever be considered "a contest of intellectual skill."

    It probably is fake. If you notice that the Texas show has roughly the same type characters. One being flamboyant.
