Westchester Ale

When I lived in east NY Brooklyn Piels was the number one beer. In the old days it was independent, flavorful and brewed well.

Now I live in Westchester County NY and I found another beer that is brewed in my shire. It's a pale ale brewed by the Captain Lawrence Brewing Company in Elmsford NY which is in my shire of Westchester. It's a good ale. Medium pale, nice body and flavour. If you can get it in your shire I recommend you try it because it is good and you will like it. You can find more about it here

Also, my old shire of Brooklyn (Kings County) is not to be outdone. An excellent brew, and one of the best I have tried is "Brooklyn Ale". More info here,

Maybe the beers I recommended are crap and maybe they taste like shit. But us new yorkers are a bunch of jerks so i guess we drink the crap. Perhaps you can enlighten us as to what good beer should taste like. This is the last time i will reccomend any food, drink or recipe on this forum. In the meantime I will drink the garbage and enjoy it.

My apology. I thought you were mocking my post. But I did ask for people to reccomend a good beer. And you recommended Bleu Cheese ale. I am sorry that I took it the wrong way. Sometimes I take things too seriously and fail to recognize comedy. . Especially after large amounts of coffee. :) My most humble apology.

No no, I wasn't degrading your ale or post. I was looking for that old SNL bit since forever and when I was looking for an ale to post, I thought about the blue cheese wine coolers and they came up. Humor. It's an Island Thing ... mon.

If you get Thomas Creek up there, give them a try. I only know of how they taste fresh. Don't know what happens when it sits on the shelf.

Thank you. I will see if I can find it and give it a try. Again, my deepest apologies. Sometimes I just take things too serious and I miss the humor. I think I have heard of Thomas Creek. I will see if I can find it up here. Sounds like I might like it. And it is a So. Carolina beer too. I am trying to find good beers from different states. Hope I can find a bottle of it soon.

He loved it because it had a unique charcoal flavor.

Ah yes, He Brew "the beer that won the 6 Day War". The memorable part was when the audience shouted anti-Semitism and booed as the sketch was introduced. Bill Murry gave them hell and when it was over it got a round of applause.

Black Label seemed to be one of those beers that you either like it or hate it. It was a popular beer in upstate NY, if I am not mistaken wasn't it brewed right across the border in Canada. Another popular upstate NY beer is Genesee.. Many of our best rednecks drink it by the case on hunting and fishing trips or, when relaxing at home. Genesee comes out of Rochester NY. Genesee Beer and Kodak film are two things that have made Rochester famous. ;)
