One of the neighbors came by for a drink and a snack

This guy landed on the water thingy last night. He stuck around for about five minutes while I took a dew pix. Couldn't get much closer than about 30 feet without spooking him. Just before he landed, we had the usual feeding frenzy of dove, quail, and rabbits. Funny how they all evaporated in a heart beat. He finally took off and nailed a dove in mid air. Peregrine Falcons are awesome hunters, and fun to watch.

Still trying to figure out if he is a peg leg or not.

    Awesome snaps.
I am surprised at such a sudden deterioration in a woman whose only ailment was a lazy anus.

Red-tailed hawk and a blue heron got into a pissing match over the same canal-side tree branch when we were out on the bicycles a couple weeks back. Was amusing to watch.

The Red Tails are fun to watch. They hunt in groups of three out here. Two try to guide the prey toward the third one that makes the catch and kill. I'm amazed at how powerful the are. Every now and then when they kill a cottontail out back, one flies it up to the top of a 40' telephone pole, rests, and then on to the next pole, until they get it home, or divy up the kill. We also have an Osprey nest not too far away, but it is on private property that is fenced like a prison. Too far for camera, but high power glasses work. There were two little peepers in the nest last spring. That there is a magnificent bird.
