A few years back, I drank an obscene amount of Diet Sodas. I was working, had to wear a bullet-proof vest, while carrying 25lbs of extra weight on my belt while running around for up to 72 hours a week and working on my feet. This meant I sweated a lot and needed a lot of caffeine. Hence the Diet Sodas.

I got sick and it took over 3-1/2 years to recover. I was blind in my left eye, had chronic fatigue, so much pain that it was blocking out pain elsewhere in the body and that pain was around 24/7 for those 3-1/2 years. Nothing got rid of it. They thought I had a stroke, but I didn't. They thought I had MS, but I didn't. They couldn't figure out what caused this...

This is most likely the reason why and I'm thankful that I survived.

Aspartame is being marketed around the world as a sugar substitute and is found in all diet soft drinks, such as Diet Coke and Diet Pepsi. It is also found in artificial sweeteners such as NutraSweet, Equal, and Spoonful; and it is used in many other products as a sugar replacement. Aspartame is marketed as a diet product, but it is not a diet product at all. In fact, it will cause you to GAIN weight because it makes you crave carbohydrates.
Causing you to gain weight is only a very small part of what Aspartame does. Aspartame is a toxic chemical that changes the brain's chemistry. It can and does cause severe seizures. This chemical changes the dopamine level in the brain, and it is particularly deadly for anyone suffering from Parkinson's diseases.
Aspartame is extremely poisonous, and here is why. One of the toxic ingredients of Aspartame is wood alcohol. When the temperature of Aspartame exceeds 86 degrees F, the wood alcohol in the Aspartame is converted to formaldehyde, and then to formic acid, which in turn causes metabolic acidosis.
Formaldehyde is grouped in the same class of poisons as Cyanide and Arsenic - which are very deadly toxins. The only difference is... Formaldehyde kills quietly, and it takes a little longer. And, in the process of killing people, it causes all kinds of neurological problems.
There are 92 documented symptoms of Aspartame Poisoning leading to coma and death. The majority of these symptoms are neurological, because the Aspartame attacks and destroys the nervous system. Some of the symptoms of Aspartame Poisoning are covered below.

The article is very informative. In fact, this information has been available in the EU for quite awhile. Why is it harder to find in the US? Because over here, the manufacturers do their own research and studies. Not so in the EU.

We also have more consumer friendly laws that the producers have to follow, including mentioning all ingredients in their products and their working on people there is a lot of consumer info out here, as member of the consumer union here i am quite well informed, and s being informed i never used aspartame, nor drink fizzy drinks diet or not.

I gained a lot of weight drinking the 'diet' sodas. In fact, for the 4 months that I drank them, I gained 40 pounds. Eventually I went from 220 lbs. to over 330 lbs. The inability to do anything aerobic due to severe pain and fatigue meant that the weight couldn't be worked off. Eventually, all that extra bulk meant that I got diabetes and in turn I ended up with Neuropathy (permanent nerve damage) in my extremities. This also means that I get chronic pain in my legs, but can not feel my toes or most of my feet.

Not all that bad. It has led to an early retirement and I plan to study in college. Hoping to start in Physics (not all that different from Engineering) in a few months. Also, I have time to brush up on my Morse Code.

I've drunk almost a liter of Diet Pepsi every day for the last 25 years or so........ I used to drink the sugar soft drinks before that..... so far i'm still kicking...I don't glow in the dark and just checked, no extra mutated fingers or toes growing out of the body.

I'm not concerned with aspartame as a sweetener..... it's made from a protein substance ........

Now.....what the hell are they going to do with all that Chem trail stuff coming out of all those jet planes ..... ? :rofl:

A few thousand in dental bills was enough to make me cut my soda consumption to essentially nil. I have a bottle of ginger ale around, but usually it's coffee (black), water, beer or whisky :cool2:
