    Deck Chairs

    Thoughts of the rebellious crossed my mind.
    Deck chairs glimmered in the ocean sun.
    Like a million slaves smiling for freedom
    Delia kissed me and the ocean and the sky became one.
    In the washroom I was beaten by rebels with a cause.
    Delia picked up my bleeding heart
    Walked to the shore at dusk
    And buried it at sea.
