Glad to see a couple of Islanders get together. However, keep an eye on him Kev. When you're not looking, he'll let that pig-on-a-zip slide into the cab and snatch your ride.

If you put a 5th wheel on that thing, you can get Kevin back on the road. BTW, what happened to his rig?Our friend Kevin paid us Upstate South Carolina Islanders a visit today when his truck broke down and had to be repaired at the local Truck Rape Shop just off of highway 85 at White Horse Rd.
Kevin and I sat at the Waffle House and discussed the state of the world and other important and high minded topics.
It's always good to meet fellow Islanders, peers in radio and internet, and just sit down talk. Always a pleasure.
Too bad our resident Welshman was unable to attend as his boss is trying to kill him. Typical isn't it? Why do hard asses always try to kill their underlings. Next time, Tom!

I have got to meet up with about half a dozen Islanders over the years. Now, with my move I may get the opportunity to meet up with some of the members across the pond.

Diesel particulate filter bought the farm....I was pulling a 10,000 lb load and had to drop 2 gears just to get up a slight upgrade. Talk about MAJOR engine power derate. (What happened is part of the D.P.F. melted, causing beaucoup back pressure)
Encrypt everything. Even if you have nothing to hide. It increases the noise floor.
Kevin and I have had a couple of VHF QSOs via the Otay Mountain repeater but we never did have a chance to meet eyeball to eyeball. Kevin, are you driving one of those new rigs that uses DEF? We had one of those at the school for a while and it was a PITA!
All the world’s a stage, but obviously the play is unrehearsed and everybody is ad-libbing his lines. Maybe that’s why it’s hard to tell if we’re living in a tragedy or a farce.
No Carlo... it's pre-DEF. But it does have the DPF...which is what went belly-up.
But you can grill a steak on the DPF during the regeneration cycle!
