    Tigers are off and running....

Looked good yesterday until Valverde blew the save. But no matter, he got a "W" & the Tigers have a shot at "wire to wire." Liked Jim Leyland's comments about the blown save. He was glad for it -- took off the pressure to keep up the streak. Relievers CAN cause heart stoppage. And then there's Verlander......

Still wire-to-wire. And looking very, very strong - stronger than last year, actually. AND...the Fox announcers actually gave them some respect during the game!

    Go Tigers!

    Kewl!

The Madres Padres are playing true to form so far this season—they've already lost two to their arch-rival, the Dodgers. It's gonna be a l-o-n-g season...
All the world’s a stage, but obviously the play is unrehearsed and everybody is ad-libbing his lines. Maybe that’s why it’s hard to tell if we’re living in a tragedy or a farce.

Yea, the team that had THE GALL to get a win in the '84 World Series. How could they! Well, the Yanks swept them in '98.

The Tigers, you mean? Easy—they were playing the Padres that year! In the entire major league history of the San Diego Padres, they've played nine World Series games and won a grand total of one (count it) one of them.

Wow. Just Wow!!!!!! Yesterday was the second time in three days that I had to invoke "The Power." That's where the Tigers are down to their last strike on their last out, are trailing, and it doesn't look good. I turn the game off & read about it the next day, so I didn't know they're 3-0 til this morning. Again, just Wow! Definitely starting out exactly how the finished the regular season last year; pretty much untouchable. How can ya not love Jim Leyland? Well, that is, when he's not beating you?

    Oh, yea....Wire to Wire!

    Go Tigers!

The Padres finally won a game yesterday, 6-4 over the Dodgers. As usual, they made it look hard.
