Morchella, Morel or Spongies, it doesn't matter what you call these awesome little devils. Portabellas have nothing on them. Hard to find, with a very short growing season makes them RARER then that famous SX-88.

I never get anymore because I can't go out in the woods anymore, and it costs about $20 a pound to buy them if you can find a picker that hasn't sold all of his before he goes. My nephew went out and picked about 4 pounds of them and gave me half! I've cleaned them up and froze all but about 1/2 pound. I like to run them through an egg wash and then roll them in crushed corn flakes. Fry them in real butter until the egg, cereal coating is golden brown, so I did. Ate the whole half pound myself!
Some days are just better than others, and this is a good one!
