I never had problem with contests. I Just tune in a clear space a few kc between contesters and call CQ on AM.
Seriously, these anti-contesters are so full of shit. Shut the damned radio off and go take a walk and burn off some of that fat. The world will appreciate that you are not blabbering on the airwaves.
