    Earl Scruggs dies

The other half of Flatt and Scruggs dies. What a great sound they made, and I'm sure they're jamming once again. I hope Albi likes Bluegrass. RIP, all of you.

And to think they're being replaced by carload upon carload of plasticized pop-twits.

Plasticized Pop-Twits who can't even sing on key without help from AutoTune.
All the world’s a stage, but obviously the play is unrehearsed and everybody is ad-libbing his lines. Maybe that’s why it’s hard to tell if we’re living in a tragedy or a farce.

Earl Scruggs was killer, real world class picker there.

And nostalgia aside, we've always had plasticized pop-twits for as long as people realized they could make money off recorded music. Great music may take a little digging (or we get lucky when the occasional great artist or band sneaks through the pop-filter), but it is out there. Every generation has great music and loads of audio turds. Thats the great thing about it, lots to choose from. Lots of great pickers remain too.

But Earl Scruggs will be missed.
