John, if you really want a cigar experience, go to the old stand bys, H. Upmann or Monte Cristo white box. A Fuente Hemmingway Short Story is also a good one to try. Of those 3, the Upmann is the richest.

I'll keep those in mind. When it comes to tobacco I am mostly a fine pipe or redneck (Red Man) chew man (hows that for extremes) . But a good cigar is a treat. However i am surprised nobody's heard of Don Pepin. They are supposedly quite good. But I will be able to tell more once I smoke one. In any event, I'll try the Upmann.
I keep my 2 feet on the ground, and my head in the twilight zone.
Yes, a cigar is to enjoyed while sitting down with all your comfortable surroundings and other things that you may wish. Like a good meal, a real cigar is to be contemplated over. Sometimes paired with an alcoholic beverage or coffee and sometimes a neutrally sweetened dark chocolate.
The cigar maker is like a fine chef. The maker is trying to romance you with a fine combination of tobaccos, aging and curing and final presentation. Depending on your mood, you could opt for a single, double or even triple fermented wrapper. The undertones and flavors are subtle and akin to savoring a fine, well age scotch or cognac.
