    I just made

a loaf of vanilla bread. Never made it before, but sure to make it again. It can be made in a bread machine, or done conventionally. Adjust water/flour as needed. When you pinch the dough before the first rise, it should be tacky and not "wet" where it sticks to your fingers like a booger.

    1 1/2 cups water
    2 1/2 tsp bread yeast
    1 Tbsp sugar
    1 tsp salt
    4 1/4 cups bread flour
1/3 cup instant non fat dry milk
    3 Tbsp vanilla extract

Warm the water to about 95 degrees, and mix in yeast, sugar, and salt. Let set for 4 or 5 minutes. Combine dry milk and flour. Put the liquid ingredients in the bread maker, add vanilla and dry ingredients. Use white bread cycle.

About 3 hours later you have a 2-3 pound twinkie tasting loaf of bread.

I'll have to give that a try. Planning on brewing a cherry wheat beer in the morning. She who must be obeyed has been on a 'friendship bread' kick of late. Stuff kind of reminds me of banana bread. I think the recipe she follows is from http://www.armchair.com/recipe/bake002.html
I am surprised at such a sudden deterioration in a woman whose only ailment was a lazy anus.

Well, now you'll need a pastry bag and a really dumb kid who sounds like Bart Simpson...

The vanilla bread man is seated at the table in the laboratory of the Utility Bread Pan
Research kitchen... reaching for an oversized chrome spoon he gathers an
Intimate quantity of dried bakery remnants and brushing his scapular aside
Procceds to dump these inside of his shirt...
He turns to us and speaks:

Some people like cupcakes better. I for one care less for them!
Arrogantly twisting the sterile canvas snoot of a fully charged icing
Anointment utensil he poots forths a quarter-ounce of white slimy stuff (oh ah yuk
Yuk... lets try that again...!) he poots forth a quarter-ounce of white slimy stuff
Into the center of a dense but radiant vanilla bread of his own design.
    Later he says:

Some people... some people like cupcakes exclusively, while myself, I say
There is naught nor ought there be nothing so exalted on the face of gods grey
Earth as that prince of foods... the giant Twinkie!
