    Micrometals Iron Dust Toroids

The well-known Micrometals dust toroids using the type "2" material was always finished in red and plain colours as per the catalogue and I bought some. Now I find all the sellers in the UK have type "2" material toroids finished in brown and claiming these to be genuine. They do seem to work OK but how do they compare?.

Short of doing inductance tests at various frequencies can anyone throw any light on this?

The "brown" colour is actually brown/reddish...
I used some, could not measure a difference to the older red types i used years back, so it seems just a colour change...
But better be safe as sorry, just testing is quite easy done.

Thank you, I'll carry on using them and not worry too much!
