Yep, I agree about the market thing.
Remember the Lady Di Beanie Baby?

$30K in their heyday. Now the type of actual offers people get for them is $15.
You will note one of the ebay ones is priced at $175,000 but it will be relisted forever.
I was never into Beanie Babies but I did some reading on them over the Summer because a box of them were given to me and people didn't even want to give a single dollar for them.
"I'll give you 25 cents for this one."
"M'aam, that's a Rocky and Bullwinkle. I can't take less than a dollar for it."

Years ago, a good friend had some really old and collectable baseball cards from the early days. One was worth at least $20K. Then one day the whole BB card market just fell the **** out and his collection was pretty much worth a whole lot less than he paid for them. Of note, he did not pay $20K for that one card, more like $300 at a garage sale but for a short while, it was being listed at a value of $20K. He had it mounted under glass when he found out. He had a few other cards worth up to $5K at the time. This was about very late 80s to very early 90s.
