Winter storm, high wind, and coastal flood Warnings/Advisories in effect.
The breakdown goes like this. Heavy snow most of the state down to the shoreline. Rain in New London and Windham counties. Changeover to snow for you by this evening. The snow will be very heavy with snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour. Driving is tough, very low visibilities. Plus we will have very strong winds, The strongest will be in New London county. Wind gust of 60 MPH hour are possible there. 50 mph winds possible elsewhere. The snow stays with us though about midnight, then starts to end from west to east. NW Ct will see most of the snow, 6" - 12" expected there. Most of the state will see roughly 5"-10" of heavy wet snow. Power outages are likely.

Here it is, 2:30 pm, and snowing very heavy, the ground is turning white. I expect the storm will be worse than predicted.
