    Bad WX blow

Looks like Denver is headed for a kickass first winter storm; NWS is predicting 6-10 inches of snow tonight and 4-8 tomorrow. Wet stuff and many of the trees here are still "changing color." Lots of tree damage predicted.

Summer's over, and I'll miss it.

*sigh* I just came home in the rain, praying it wouldn't turn to ice & snow before I got here. Bought some candles and some trail mix & fruit just in case I'm stuck here without power tomorrow.

    Did I mention.. sigh?

    No shit...

Queued a work-at-home day for tomorrow just in case. But damn... been a fun ride, eh?

Suppose so, we were told we could work at home too tomorrow if we wanted.. the problem is.. 70 employees, 25 VPN licenses. I bet we don't fill up despite the vast majority of people supposedly "working from home". ;)

Mostly, I could do it all from home. Have better equipment here and a faster pipe. I'd miss my work friends though. We bust ass for the most part, but there's nothing like throwing ball with the work dog in he morning. Seriously, that dog makes going to work worthwhile.

    NXServer or OpenVPN; or both.

Preaching to the choir. I really wish we could at least setup OpenVPN for the IT-related folks, but we have very specific security requirements that OpenVPN can't meet.

Makes me doubly glad I didn't have to go out on the road in an 18-wheeler after all. I hate chaining one of those bastards up to get it over Cabbage or Donner; it seems to take forever.

All the world’s a stage, but obviously the play is unrehearsed and everybody is ad-libbing his lines. Maybe that’s why it’s hard to tell if we’re living in a tragedy or a farce.

What do the chainers on I-80 charge for a rig? I know the going rate when I lived in Truckee was $40 for a car.
