    First Rainstorm of the Season

The first typical winter-type rainstorm out of the Gulf of Alaska hit here this evening. Not a big deal, a bit of rain, a bit of wind and noticeably cooler than normal temps (high 50s) but I bring it up because when a storm is big enough to reach this far south so early in the season, that usually means it is big enough to make it all the way to the East Coast in a few days. Consider yourselves alerted.

It won;t be anything new here. It's been raining constantly since August.

Understood, but this will be a relatively cold storm. It dropped snow on the northern California mountains and a half-inch of rain down here. That's unusual for this early in the season.

Climate change is all in your imagination. LAF and the Koch Brothers told me so.

Well, we're expecting a return to summer over the weekend and through next week as day time temperatures climb back into the 70's and low 80's for the next few weeks. It is expected that it is going to be extremely mild to warm for the rest of this month and through most of November and maybe well into December.
