    Wanted, but not immediately

Since it looks as if I'm going to be going back out on the road in an 18-wheeler again within the next month or so, I will be in the market for a used IC-706 (Mk II or Mk IIG), Yaesu 857 or other compact HF rig suitable for mobile use. Thing is, I can't spring for it until I have an income again so I'm asking that if you have one you decide you want to sell sometime between October 1 and the end of the year and can hold off selling it right away, please let me know. I'll send you a deposit to hold it for me until I can pay the entire amount.

    Thanks.

Yeah, thanks, I'm gonna need it. I am not looking forward to climbing back into the cab at all.

Don't blame you, but it beats no paycheck.

The price of a new one right now hovers around $1000.00
    $999 + maybe $20 ship and handle.
The problem is - you want to buy it on a IF.
Most swap meets - you buy it on a if - if it works?

Your best bet, being on a tight budget is to save your money and buy a new one when you can afford it - hence you will get a years warranty and not be out anything if there is any issues down the road.

ON the other hand, if you would like to buy a MFJ 949E that reads backwards for $60.00 plus ship, I would be glad to hold it for you. HI HI..
