Australia is the home of the Bunyip...They are an elusive creature that lives around creeks in deep dark gulleys...There are many old aboriginal tales of the Bunyip catching and eating any unwary human who accidentally strays into the Bunyip's domain....Around here where I live is prime Bunyip country with many deep dark gulleys and creeks...Often during the night one can hear weird screams wafting on the breeze especially around the full moon..Unexplained disappearance of the odd dog and livestock can be attributed to this menace....They are masters at hiding and I have no record of one actually been caught...However many an old bushman has left the wandering life and moved into town and given up the drink and joined a church after their terrifying experiences of being stalked in the night by these horrific creatures..
Australia is a strange and sometimes terrifying country with many unexplained mysterious and elusive creatures...Fair Dinkum.....

Pluck your magic twanger, froggy!
"I'm Buster Brown. I live in a shoe. That's my dog Tide. He lives there, too!"
I also remember Bertie the Bunyip and I too never realized its namesake's monstrous reputation until recently, when I came across a description while Googling for a picture of the puppet. Little more than the name rattled around in my noggin since the 50s, back there with Rootie Kazootie, Koko the Clown and Tinker the Toymaker, speaking of visions straight on Insane Clown Posse videos.
