    IC-AT100, AT500

Auto-tuners of 100 and 500w capacity which can be remote-controlled via any Icom rig that outputs band data via accessory connector. The 500w version can be used in conjunction with an IC-2KL amplifier. Each can be manually switched via a front-panel band control if desired.

Both tuners allow for hands-free band changes when used with compatible Icom transceivers. Extremely useful in a contest scenario - just pick your frequency and talk. The AT-100 seems to tune a little faster than the AT-500 but neither is a slouch in this regard. You can configure them to "Auto"-tune or to use presets - one per band, and the settings for each are adjustable via a pair of trimmer pots.

If your Icom rig doesn't have an internal ATU, get one of these. They work well.

If DXing is your thing, either will allow for rapid band changes.

I set the '751-IC2KL-AT500 up for 'DSG, who usually operates the multiplier position of our contest shack - and who doesn't understand how to tune a tube amplifier. We're looking at Tokyo Hy-Power amps/ATUs for the SO2R lineup but the Icom equipment of yesteryear will still hold its own against its modern contemporaries.
