First radio I ever built was one of these:
A Heathkit GR-54.
I was about 14 and, no, it didn't work the first time. My father and I had to go back through it and fix about a million cold solder joints.

All the world’s a stage, but obviously the play is unrehearsed and everybody is ad-libbing his lines. Maybe that’s why it’s hard to tell if we’re living in a tragedy or a farce.
