Beisbol Has Been Very Very Good to Me

Okay, not really. But I still love it and today is opening day!
All the world’s a stage, but obviously the play is unrehearsed and everybody is ad-libbing his lines. Maybe that’s why it’s hard to tell if we’re living in a tragedy or a farce.

    I'm waiting another month.

As Alan Sherman noted about May 1..."Hooray, hooray, it's the first of May! Outdoor fscking begins today!"

The closest MLB team to me is the Atlanta Braves.

Woo-hoo! The Padres beat the Cards 5-3 in 11. It's fairly rare for them to win in St. Louis.

Well, at least this morning, I could pick up the paper and honestly say with a straight face:

Hey! The Pirates are tied for first!

There have been years that Opening Day is the ONLY day of the season I could say that.

Go Yanks. They have mondo problems with starting pitching though. We'll see if Steinbrenner Jr can find the bux to get a couple of much needed starters before the All-Star Break or we'll probably be out of it by the first week of Sept.
