This type of logic has traditionally been reserved for monetary policy.

What did they call it when people used to make off-air recordings of their favorite songs - and entire albums?

Yes, the radio stations in this area used to play entire albums starting at midnight, with only a "Side A-to-B" commercial break.

Our local college station transmitted a tone to adjust the speed on the recorder. I had a reel to reel (revox) that had the tone feature.

I forgot about recording off the radio. I was guilty of that from age 9 and up. Amazing how many times you can hear a song and then the time you have the tape deck set up the DJ wants to blab over the intro.

Monetary yes, that's where I was going. The tax code and the minting press.

Haha! Me too. I remember about that same age, calling up a radio station and bitching at them for messing up my recording with their blabbing over the songs.

Yeah, but you got a lot of cool airchecks.

Anymore, that's the fun part of my old tapes from the early '70's.
