    What did they call it when people used to make off-air recordings of their favorite songs - and entire albums?

    Yes, the radio stations in this area used to play entire albums starting at midnight, with only a "Side A-to-B" commercial break.

    Our local college station transmitted a tone to adjust the speed on the recorder. I had a reel to reel (revox) that had the tone feature.
