All the world’s a stage, but obviously the play is unrehearsed and everybody is ad-libbing his lines. Maybe that’s why it’s hard to tell if we’re living in a tragedy or a farce.

Repeating an action over and over each time expecting a different outcome is the hallmark of insanity. When an animal in the wild makes a mistake, IF he survives never makes the same mistake again. It only goes to show misplaced pride when we call them dumb animals when we should be looking at ourselves in the mirror.

Thanks for the update and please keep us posted on who gets the Darwin Award for exceptional high voltage achievement, hopefully someone won't inform us it was you.

    Nailed it!

Yes, I would have needed my head examined if I had repaired the "Objet d'art" but, CBC has demonstrated his ability to "Swap Parts" so, all I really did was to tell him what was in need of replacement. The RF community here locally is close-knit so, I received the phone call informing me that he has taken it to my ex-pupil/nemesis.

As Teddy Roosevelt would have said, "Bully for them"!

Have you ever seen a dog get ahold of something distasteful, you know how he starts foaming at the mouth and shaking his head sharply trying to get the foul taste out of his mouth? Well, that was me!

Why would you sell an amp to a person you know is operating illegally?

Who was I to "Predict" what he would do or, how he would operate his own equipment on his own property. I minmized my involvement to that of an unpaid advisior. For my part, he can take the box and, haul Coal in it for all I care.

Perhaps, you watched the segment on 60 Minutes last night where the Governor of Pennsylvania compared Casino Gambling to Crack Cocaine; he implied that Crack Cocaine was only addictive to some people and that there were countless others who are not hooked on Crack Cocaine so, Crack Cocaine ( and Gambling) was OK in the right dosage when used for entertainment reasons.

Pennsylvania Governor acknowledges that Casinos are like Crack Cocaine and claims it's all good.

Park outside my QTH and wait for an 11 meter signal, I promise you that your beard will grow long and gray and, that your clothing will be out of style before you monitor an 11 meter signal coming out of here.

As long as it is OK on his street and in his neighborhood and my hand is not on the Key, he can do what-so-ever he likes.

MY PERSONAL AXE TO GRIND: I am the only licensed Amateur Radio Operator within my zipcode; at least 3 fixed stations running multiple kilowatt amplifiers operate every day within a 2 mile radius of me. If, there was going to be any enforcement of any broken rules, it should start with the obvious offenders and "nar-do-wells" calling for " Skip Land".

It seems you "predicted it" rather well:

About 18 months ago, I came into contact with this CB’er who needed repair work done on some “Legacy” equipment (my mentor and former employer, W8ERG SK was very prolific in his manufacturing. I am the “Go-to guy” when it come to stuff that he constructed).
Your words, not mine. If that "legacy equipment" was not a certificated CB radio, why would you work on it for a CB operator? I know I wouldn't.

....For a while, I did field service for the company that builds and distributes the machine that dispenses Instant Lottery Tickets; it was sickening watching people line up to feed their moral weakness and knowing that I was profitting from it, I left the company shortly after I started.

It was not a CB Radio, it was a Drake L4-B that my mentor had worked on.
