Get your microscope and hot-air soldering gear in order first--lots of SMD parts involved.

What are they getting for the kit, BTW? I didn't see a price listed anywhere.
All the world’s a stage, but obviously the play is unrehearsed and everybody is ad-libbing his lines. Maybe that’s why it’s hard to tell if we’re living in a tragedy or a farce.

The SMT is already done, sadly :(
I do wonder how my patience would fare doing all the SMT by hand though...

Did a double take on one of the pix -- at a quick glance the filters (I think that's what they are) looked like Nixie tubes! THAT was a WTF?

Price: There's this one on eBAy. $335 fully assembled.
If it's a war on drugs, then free the POW's.

I think there was an article on Eham or somewhere a couple of years ago about this rig. The thing was available as a kit, on Ebay then too I think, but the assembly instructions weren't done yet or were in Chinese waiting for translation. There were some issues but I think the guy that designed it, was looking to see if there would be any interest. It's a very cool concept, and if it works it would be neat to have one to play around with.

Well it looks good, there's a 6 pole crystal filter on there, so it looks like extra effort has gone into making it a nice radio.
