Well, yes and no. You do get a choice whether or not to abuse alcohol and kill your liver the way Rafferty did.
All the world’s a stage, but obviously the play is unrehearsed and everybody is ad-libbing his lines. Maybe that’s why it’s hard to tell if we’re living in a tragedy or a farce.
Baker Street is a masterpiece. I still remember where I was when I first heard it in 1978.
