    As I watch the Weather Channel and see all the bad storms going on today and tonight, have a safe and Happy New Year. Hope 2011 is a better year for all.

    I will add my New Year felicitations and good hopes to the pot. May whatever lord rules you look down in mercy and give you a small pat on the head and smile benevolently as you embark on yet another twelvemonth.

    Remember, tonight is Amateur Night. In terms of surviving the mandated wealth of libations, tomorrow night is a better choice by far. 'Tis better to greet a New Year with hope, imagination and expectation, lubricated suitably of course, than it is to put the old annum to death in a stupor.
