    New Toy

    Just in time for Christmas:

I'll hopefully have it shortly after the new year.
I hope to talk to many Islanders on it.

Nice. You should have lots of fun with that.
I am surprised at such a sudden deterioration in a woman whose only ailment was a lazy anus.

    Congrats, excellent choice.

Hope it will arrive soon then ;)

Ill end up with one eventually! Excellent christmas present though...it falls into the 'salivation effect' catagory for sure.

    I had a REALLY REALLY hard time choosing between it,and a 9000C.
The specs are better on the 5000,but my long term love affair with the FT-102,and the similarities with the 9000C made it a difficult choice.

If you decide that you really don't like it I'd be happy to trade you an early FT-101, but you're gonna have to sweeten the deal a bit and throw in at least $50 and a 6 pack of tasty beer.

Those new fangled radios can't possibly work. Where are the tubes ? Where are the blowers and the chimneys to cool the finals ? Where the milliampere meter to measure the plate current ?
