    Blizzards in Europe

Blizzards and freezing temperatures shut down airport runways, train tracks and highways across Europe Sunday, stranding thousands of holiday travelers.

Airports in Britain, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Italy and other countries reported cancellations or delays in hundreds of flights.
Okay, Cor, try and deny it: this is God's punishment for Europe's godless, socialistic welfare policies.

All the world’s a stage, but obviously the play is unrehearsed and everybody is ad-libbing his lines. Maybe that’s why it’s hard to tell if we’re living in a tragedy or a farce.

I'm starting to wonder if we're not heading for Maunder Minimum II

More likely a disruption of the Gulf Stream due to melt water from Greenland cooling the North Atlantic.

On another note, we just had the 3rd year in a row we saw snowfall and frost as it should only happen once in 10 years time...
Bet we're good now for the next 30 years no?

Not only the Gulfstream flowing 1/2 the speed it normally does, La Nina happening, etc.
    Sunspots? what sunspots...
A few volcano's doing their best etc, all play a role.
For a country with a tempered sea climate we had - 14 Celsius, and some spots had 20" snow already.
    And the winter just started.

Pretty rugged climate here, too. Gets down almost to freezing here once every few years. Hell, it's raining and we're not even gonna see 60°F (16°C) today...

Outside my house last Saturday night:

What it looked like the next morning after I'd finished digging my way out to the street:

Breaking out with the mighty Dodge:

Not the mansion or Rolls Royce that some of you are sporting, but it's home to me.

On edit, the last numbers I heard was 18.5 inches. We also have 3 to 7 more coming in the next 48 hours AND we might get some freezing rain.

I am surprised at such a sudden deterioration in a woman whose only ailment was a lazy anus.

Your house looks nice enough to me, Thomas; it's certainly no farther from being a mansion than mine. And your mighty Dodge is three years newer than my somewhat less mighty Ford Ranger.
