Years ago there was a game called "Doom!" that came bundled with most Linux distro's. I used to love the game. As time went on Doom went out of vogue. Just wondering, is there any modern day or enhanced version of plain ol' Doom that can be run on Linux ?? I wouldn't mind playing a few rounds of Doom noiw and then, even if it is passe' as far as games are concerned..

PrBoom is a rewrite of the code for Linux. Also, LXDoom, and several other variants. The shareware WAD is pretty easy to find, as is the commercial WAD (ID Software sells the Doom Super Pack, Doom I, II, and another expansion that I forget the name of) for like $10.
