Pardon me while I brag about my kid for a minute.

My youngest has always been bright, but today we got a call from her school. She ranked pretty high on the last round of testing and has been invited into the gifted child program. We meet with the teacher on Monday to learn the details.

Guess the program is reserved for the top 4% of students in the school district.

good for you, Mike. My daughter was the "student of the month" in middle school, which was really for the district and the semester. She got the award in front of the city council meeting. It feels good, when your kids do well.

That rocks. I hope she takes advantage of it, especially if she's a little bored with regular school.

I was never prouder than when my daughter was in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade about five years ago. Her high school band was the "Santa band", the last element before Santa gets to Herald Square. It made sitting in the car for the summer and fall watching the band practice for that gig all worthwhile.

Congrats on your young one making the gifted program!

My D- kid cat still whip your honor student's ass....from a bumper sticker.snicker. Good going, maybe it's that wild game, and fish you feed them. Most kids eat garbage from Archer Daniels Midland. You never know, your kids my be the ones who develops the cure for cancer. I hope our young people can fix all of the stuff we have screwed up. That is my hope these days.
