    Just got my new toy

Yeah I know, it's not really a ham radio thing. I may have left engineering but I still do voiceovers and record events and interviews. This will come in *really* handy because I'm not always home to record in the studio and this will let me record pretty much anywhere I want or need to. I tested it out and it is very nice and quiet.

Nice... I know, a little late, but did you happen to notice this in your travels search for this solution?

I've had my eye on that for quite some time :)

Ha! Funny you mention the H4. I was in Twin Village Music just a few minutes ago looking for a violin book K needs for school and they had one of those I was gawking at. Same price as Amazon has listed. I was also gawking at a new tuner that is tiny and clips right to the instrument. Cool stuff.

Did they have a display unit? Like I said, I've been eyeing getting one for a long time now.

Display unit? They had one in stock in the display case.

Hm. Might have to head out there. Maybe they'll let me get a "hands on" the unit. From outside appearances, it looks "cheap", but reviews have said it's not.

Not to mention multi-platform: Windows, Mac and Linux. Very cool and slick app.
All the world’s a stage, but obviously the play is unrehearsed and everybody is ad-libbing his lines. Maybe that’s why it’s hard to tell if we’re living in a tragedy or a farce.

Does anyone know of any real time audio processor apps that run under Linux preferable, or, if need be...Windoze ?. The whole idea I have is to use a PC to digitally process my low level AM audio chain digitally via a PC. This would include equalization, compression, asymmetrical peak limiting, delay, effects, etc. In other words instead of running a preamp, eq, and BL-40 modulimiter, the PC would handle all of that in real-time. It would probably involve running an audio enhanced low latency real-time kernel via a dedicated machine. The problem being is that I need to find suitable apps. The USB XLR input might be added icing on the cake provided there are no major latency issues.

    Any ideas ? recomendations ?
