Ummmm, no I'm not peeing in my gas tank :)
Well I am curious about how many were able to hook up this morning. I could never hear anybody that I recognized the call of. I moved over to 7070.15 and called CQ and got an answer so I had a 20 minute rag chew QSO with a guy out in Iowa.

IF IT'S POLITICALLY CORRECT THEN IT'S A LIE
THE ONLY GOOD GUN CONTROL IS HITTING WHAT YOU ARE AIMING AT
I DO EQSL OR DIRECT OR NO QSL DUE TO THE FACT THAT I CHASE NO AWARDS
None were able to hook up. As a test when Paul (GUH) suggested the link-up, I had no trouble connecting with ECARS net control in Vermont on 7255. I was working barefoot; at that time, I heard a number of CT mobiles checking in to that net, so I think the link-up was possible. I believe he might have had his hands full working CW or a keyboard mode while driving to a hamfest, so we planned phone. ;)
Of course, after the start of the QSO party, things changed and the band got a lot busier -- especially since 75/80 and 40 were the only practical bands for the operation of the contest, at least, in so far as phone was concerned.
