    It is over.

If I were the kind of guy who gets drunk, today would be the day.

    It is snowing outside.

Not a heavy snow, and it is not sticking, but snow nonetheless. Another Alaskan summer is officially over and it is time to dig out the snow shovels and put away the patio furniture and the lawn mower. This day always sucks.

On the bright side the first hint of freezing temps means that it is time to go hunting for the elusive and rare arctic hare.

90° F here. Last time it snowed in the city of San Diego proper was about 40 years ago, although San Diego County gets snow in the higher elevations every winter.

All the world’s a stage, but obviously the play is unrehearsed and everybody is ad-libbing his lines. Maybe that’s why it’s hard to tell if we’re living in a tragedy or a farce.

Yesterday was 89 but today it is 64 with a flood watch in place until Monday night. First rain in about, well, almost 3 weeks. September is usually very wet with a predictable zonal flow but last year we had south Georgia weather. This year it's starting to look like more of the same until December.

Good luck to you this year with your hibernation. How far underground do you have to go to reach 55 degrees? Around here, you could keep an underground dwelling at that temp year round starting at about 6 feet.

Apparently you're living in the wrong place. If you like hot weather than you need to move to a hot place with long summers and very short mild winters. Just be prepared to get used to spending money on running cooling devices instead of heating devices.

Friday saw 92 degrees at the Akron-Canton airport.

Yesterday the temps struggled to make it out of the low 60s in places.

We did ~150mi on the two-wheelers to help a friend set the valve clearances on his bike. All of us wore more cow than usual for this time of year.

Supposed to be 56/46 next Saturday. At the moment I'm giving the "summer" bikes their last washing prior to storage...and I'm prepping their "fall-early winter" contemporaries for duty.

Hopefully I'll get to ride the C-14 throughout the winter.
